About

Where did we come from?

The Troupe Theatre began as Executive Director Caelin Whitley's Girl Scout Gold Award project back in 2021. With the incredible support of her community, her students, and professional colleaguessuch as Alicia Ingersoll– The Troupe Theatre was brought to life. The Troupe Theatre put up its first show, A Christmas Chaos, in December of 2021.

Why "A Christmas Chaos?"

When searching for a "first show" in 2021, The Troupe Theatre Team was looking for a festive, comedic play that was entertaining to people of all ages, while also maintaining a technical difficulty that would challenge both the pre-professional students and professional actors involved in the production. With the decision to perform the play in downtown Mansfield, TX, at the height of Christmas festivities, we knew the public was also looking for a show that would help them get back into a "normal" holiday season post-COVID.

Then, we stumbled across "A Christmas Chaos" which was written by a Texas native, Michael Wehrli.

It is funny, fast paced, and accessible, with a medium sized cast and the challenge of making everything go wrong, in the right way.

Mr. Wehrli is from a small town in Texas which is only 30 minutes away from the Farr Best Theatre where The Troupe Theatre put on our spin of his play, and it felt like the perfect way to truly make this production, and this company, about accessing our community.
